On my constant search for work, I found this cutie here:

This is from Ed Barret, co-founder of London based animation studio Animade.
They produce really nice pieces of work for both television commercials, games and digital content.
They also have a blog, which is my new addiction!

Little Inspiration

I absolutely love kids and everything it's kids related.
I think it's because I love miniatures! hahaha
My husband is crazy about book shops and every time we enter one I go straight to the kids session, I love the stories and illustrations. I love silly, sweet things that make your heart smile.

One of my big dreams in life is starting my own brand of stuff for kiddos. Clothes, nursery decoration, prints, everything for the little ones.

This is what's been inspiring me lately:

Bobo Choses is an international brand of clothes for small and big people. They use basic models with prints that are absolutely beautiful. I really like their style.

NEW NEW NEW!

Hello! Have you noticed the blog's new outfit?
Isn't it better? I was so tired of that grey layout and decided to go all white!
And little hint of blue that's been my favorite color this year!

My first Christmas purchase

Last night, I went to Donna Wilson's Christmas Sample Sale. She has opened the doors of her studio in Bethnal Green to the public and there was a big sale of all her products. When we first arrived there, we saw a huuuuuge queue coming down the stairs but it didn't take long to enter.

The studio is lovely, a very big open space, full of shelves and boxes with materials. Such a dream. Maybe one day, I'll be able to have a space like hers.

I was in a budget, due to all the birthday luxury threats last month. But I couldn't resist and got one (only one) little cushion for my living room.

Lovely, isn't it? It matches the same color of my sofa, and there's Nina in there (you know me, right? when there are cats involved I can't say no!).

Anyway, it looks so cute on my sofa. It's gonna be the perfect cuddle for the winter.

Inspiration: Donna Wilson

Today I'd like to show you one of my number one inspirations: Donna Wilson!

This girl rocks! She is such an inspiration not only because of her lovely cushions, ceramics, patterns and illustration but also because just like me and lots of girls, she had a dream - making beautiful things with her own hands - and she made her dream come true and today she sells her work in all major shops in the UK and all over the world!!!

And is there a cuter dream than this?

*love*

Donna Wilson set up her company in 2003 after making odd knitted creatures for her final show at the Royal College of art. The creatures sold out and since then she has built her business designing and making a collection of curious cushions, luxurious lambswool blankets, and variety of products for you and your home.

Originally from Scotland, Donna runs a studio and workshop in London. Her hardworking team knit, sew, pack and send out products to individuals and design shops around the world - 25 countries at our last count!

Inspiration

Katie from Skunkboy Creatures is a super talented American girl who designs and makes those lovely felt creatures. I have a huge crush on her work, you know that kind of work you see and think: " Oooownn: I wish they were mine!"
They are so sweet and they have that kind of magic around them, it's just like they will become alive as soon as you stop staring, and they will trot, and blink and hop around, just like a Michel Gondry movie.

I started making my felt toys when I was living in Finland and was not full-time working. It was such a incredible experience, to spend days, weeks sewing till your fingers are sore and red. I had the great opportunity to sell them at the Helsinki Design Week, it was so much fun. I had to learn how to say the basic in Finish, like: En puhu suomea (I don't speak Finnish! haha), but even not speaking a word of Finnish I managed to sell a whole bunch of them. It was unforgettable!

But when I look to Katie's work, I see the long journey I still have to ride, before I can (who knows one day) have my crafts as my only income. It's a long journey, I still have to figure out my own style, as a artist, my personal touch that will make my toys a unique piece of craft.

For now, I will leave you guys with her lovely little friends:

Aren't they just breath taking?
Aren't they lovely? (Not even mentioning that she is gorgeous and have a
super lovely cute family! Total girl crush!! he he)
