Tough Cookie!

Before adventuring ourselves into the wild sea of restaurants in New York, we (I mean husband) did tons of research for the best places to go. We were looking for the best hot dog, the best burger, the best pizza and of course the best cookie. We are big cookie fans here at home and we were so lucky to find at the New York Times website a recommendation for the best cookies in town: Levain Bakery! Totally different from French bakeries, this is just a door on the ground floor of a residencial building of Manhattan. Nothing fancy or cute, right down of a wax shop you'll find a door. When you open this door, oh my God, an amazing chocolaty-buttery smell just fill up your lungs and it's like being transported for another world where everything is made of chocolate. There, you can choose between 4 options: choc chip walnut, dark chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and double chocolate peanut butter.

They look huge, chunky, incredibly soft and taste just perfect.
We got addicted to them, but unfortunately on the second day we tried to go there it was closed for holidays.

So, today, on the 1st day of the year I thought that it would be a great idea to try to copycat them and make husband happy at the same time! Found lots of fans of their cookies online and followed this recipe. Mine turned out not so tall as the original, and a bit more flat. Maybe I need to try a bit more flour next time. But tell me if they don't look good? And they taste really nice as well. Yum!
